José Ramón Díez Guijarro is the Director of International Economics and Markets at Caixabank Research. He has developed a 30 years long career as a macroeconomic economist and analyst of monetary policy, country risk and financial markets. During that time he has combined his work as an economic and financial analyst with teaching in various institutions: CESMA, CEU and ICADE. He is currently Professor of Economic Environment and Spanish Economy at CUNEF and Honorary Associate Professor at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
He regularly contributes opinion pieces to various publications and newspapers, such as ABC, Expansión, Cuadernos de Información Económica, and others. He frequently participates at professional symposiums and discussion forums and also stands as an active economic adviser at the GACE (a Spanish think tank for the economic analysis).
