Elena Cerdá-Mansilla has a PhD in Economics and Innovation Management from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, for which she was awarded an international mention with an Outstanding Cum Laude.
Her main interests lie in innovation and technology, and her research focuses mainly on the impact of technology on tourism, although she has also conducted research in other industries, such as higher education. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and published in relevant international journals, such as Tourism Management Perspectives, Knowledge Management Research & Practice or Spanish Journal of Marketing.
Elena taught at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2019 to 2023 after being awarded a grant for a contract under the University Teacher Training Programme (FPU) funded by the Ministry of Universities. She was accredited as an Associate Professor and as a Private University Doctoral Professor in 2024.
